Is the military a good choice for your students?

At this point in the year, many seniors are finally getting real with what they want to do with their lives. What should you do if a student approaches you to get advice about beginning military service? One positive course of action is to show them both the pros and cons to entering a military career. Use this list to help students determine their own values and make a well-informed decision.

I think it depends on the person and their situation. I spent 4 years in the USMC and 2 years in the U.S. Army. The one thing that I didn’t do, which is a main benefit for anyone who joins, is take advantage of the military education benefits. Now I am trying to help an organization called Knowledge is Power help military members take advantage of that. They also offer $1,500 military scholarships.
