Does the summer affect student learning achievements? A study completed in 1996 showed that as teachers have always suspected, achievement stays stagnant or loses ground over the summer. Some people advocate a year-long system of education to combat these losses although there are people who argue against this system.

What is your opinion as a teacher? Do you think you would be a more effective teacher if you had the students in a different schedule?
