In my opinion, at least 50% of effective teaching relates to how well organized a teacher is. In fact, I think that this number is quite low. You might be the greatest orator in the world, but if you do not have any system for starting class, creating lessons, varying activities, facilitating learning, taking care of typical housekeeping duties, and keeping accurate records then you will fail miserably. I have identified five key classroom procedures that can provide a good start for effective organization. These are areas that when I teach can often drain me of time and energy.
