Warm Ups as a Method to Start Class On Task

Getting students started at the beginning of the class period is crucial to starting things off on the right foot. Five minutes wasted at the beginning of class each day equals 25 minutes of lost instruction time each week. Therefore, we must create a system to help students get settled and on task as quickly as possible. Daily warm ups are a great way to do this. These short quizzes or journal entries can help students get ready for the lesson ahead.
