Duke of Chou

He is the regent of King Wu's son. He eventually consolidated power under himself when a rebellion began. The Duke of Chou was the person that gave feudalism its place in Chinese society during the Chou Dynasty. He stated that all land belonged to the Emperor, and everyone was his subject. He then gave land to loyal followers and confirmed their allegiance to the Emperor. This system created the aristocracy in China that lasted for centuries. The Duke of Chou also proposed the well-field land system to ensure stability.
