You love coaching. Teaching is just something you do in order to allow you to coach. Not that you have anything against education and teaching, you just wish you were out on the fields, playing some ball.

Seriously though...:

The above description was tongue in cheek. There are many coaches who are excellent teachers. Just make sure that you are creating and following through on lesson plans, and more importantly that you are always being fair and consistent in your room. Even if it is not true, many students have the perception that their teachers who are coaches give special preference to athletes. You have to be extra careful.
