Importance of Mentors

Quick Teaching Tip

By , About.com Guide

If you are a new teacher, then a key to success is to find an effective teacher who can be your mentor during your first year. While you might be assigned a mentor at your school, this person may or may not be the best person for you to work with. Your mentor should be enthusiastic about teaching but at the same time realistic about what you can accomplish. Further, they should provide you with the nuts and bolts that will help you teach. They might have lesson plans, organization systems, or just simply advice that will help you thrive in your new position.
